   Volunteers wanted to participate in work group on youth suicide prevention

    NAMI NH in collaboration with the Suicide Prevention Partnership and the Irving and Barbara C. Gutin Charitable Foundation will be working on a three year project focused on preventing suicide in teens and young adults in New Hampshire.     Recently, I had the honor of being accepted to Northeastern University. It has been my dream for several years because of its outstanding co-op program. At Northeastern, I plan on studying international business where my English, Spanish, and French will become beneficial. I also plan on taking computer engineering.     A powerful group joined Lawrence Literacy Works at the Clemente Abascal Community Room to discuss ideas for the formation of a Vision for Literacy in Lawrence. Representatives from organization dealing with education and literacy, as well as small businesses, not-so-small business, newspapers, civil servants, legislators, community-based organizations, faith-based organization, health care, higher education, etc. came to share their observations. Of Dreams and Nightmares: Some Quijotes, Many Dulcineas

    Recently we embarked in a massive daydream of baseball games won which ended with nightmares of aspirations lost. Those feelings made me think of dreams. Ever since I was a child growing up in a country of Spanish traditions, the name of Don Quijote de la Mancha was very much a part of my literate world. Of course, the book, written by Don Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra, was no easy reading and it was not until I was in my teens that I had the time, patience, opportunity or school requirement to make me assimilate it.
