God and evil

I have a friend who we met when we were young at one Center for Catholic Action. There we met boys and girls, we did tours, film forum, published a magazine, practiced works of mercy, etc .

Now he has lost faith, and left their Now he has lost faith, and left their religious practices. What he has won in age and in economy has lost in faith. He is a father who sacrifices himself for his children, and they do not correspond his efforts with generosity, speak little, and are cool with him. I say to him that perhaps they lack religious education, because if you take into account at least the commandment to honor your father and your mother, probably would react differently
Argues that religion is an invention of man by the fear of death, and then nothing. I replied him the contents of the following fact: In Germany in the early twentieth century, during a conference with several college students, a professor at the University of Berlin, proposed a challenge to his students the following question:

   – Did God create everything that exists?

   A student answered bravely

   “Yes, He created …

   – Did God create everything that exists, asked the teacher again.

“Yes, sir,” replied the young man.

   He replied:

“If God created everything that exists, then God created evil, since evil exists! And if we establish that our works are a reflection of ourselves, then God is evil!

   Another student
raised his hand and said:

-Can I ask a question, professor?

   “Logic was the answer.

“Professor, does cold exist?” Insisted the student.

   – But that question is that? … Logical that exists, or perhaps you never feel cold?

    The boy replied:

“Actually, sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is really the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes this body have or transmit energy. Absolute zero is the total absence of heat, all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction, but the cold does not exist.

We have created this word to describe how we feel when we have no heat.

   – And, does darkness exist? ” Continued the student.

    He replied:

    To which the student said:

“The darkness does not exist. The dark, in fact, is the absence of light. Light we can study the dark, no! Through the prism of Nichols, one can break white light into its various colors, with their different wavelengths. The dark, not…¿ How do you know how dark a certain space? Based on the amount of light present in that space.

Darkness is a definition used by man to describe what happens when there is no light.

Finally the young man asked the professor, Sir

   – Evil exist?

   He replied:

“As I stated at the beginning, we see rapes, crimes, violence around the world. Those things are evil.

   The student argued:

“Evil does not exist, sir, or at least does not exist by itself. Evil is simply the absence of good … In accordance with previous cases, evil is a definition that man has invented to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. .. Evil is the result of the absence of God in the hearts of human beings. Is equal to what happens in the cold when there is no heat, or the dark when no light.

The boy was standing applause, and the teacher, shaking his head remained silent …

The director of the University, addressed the young student and asked:

   – What is your name?.

   “My name is Albert Einstein.
Richard Gutiérrez.
